In comparison to previous singles, the fifth place in Japanese pop charts reached by this single is far from impressive. Wasurenan nai was released with this single.

Although Maki Goto had technically joined the group when this single was released, she wasn't a part of it.

Furusato is one of best suited Morning Musume songs to be sung solo, and as such this song has probably had most versions of any H!P songs. There are at least the following versions:

• Morning Musume version (main vocals sung by Natsumi Abe). Released as a single and on albums Second Morning and Best Morning Musume 1
