News / ChangelogOn the right side of the news items you can see a description of the type of the news; at the moment "site news" and "content updates" are used. Click on the text to filter only that type of news items visible.
Content updates are probably what most people want to see. They have some description on changes that have been made to the content of the site. This means changes to descriptions and additing new data and so on.
What most people don't really care about are the site updates. They are often quite technical and describe what's happening behind the scenes. Sometimes there is info about new features and such, but unless you are a regular visitor you probably couldn't care less about those.
2005-11-9 Updates - at last News entry by Visual It has again been long since I last updated anything. I've largely lost the motivation to follow what happens with Hello! Project, and in addition to that I've had other things that have kept me quite busy.
But as it has been quite long, I decided to dedicate some time in hunting down what has happened since the last update batch and make things up-to-date again.
The following list covers most of the changes; I'm too lazy to look up the names right now, you should be able to find the details from the linked pages.
2005-9-13 A new game News entry by Visual Laker made a suggestion for a new game, and I loved the idea, and after spending some time working on it, the game is now on-line.
The game presents you pictures from various promotion videos, and it's your task to recognize which video it is.
Enjoy!
2005-9-12 New batch of images News entry by Visual Yesterday I (concidentially) recieved new pictures for the releases from two different sources, and they are all uploaded now.
This batch includes perhaps most notably many of the shuffle units.
2005-8-4 Lots of new pictures News entry by Visual I myself added new pictures for various releases. All Morning Musume's releases should now have the pictures, and most of Mini Moni's as well.
Also, there are pictures of H!P kids from the year 2002. They, as well as the pictures mentioned above are also available in the game.
I've done various updated and improvements to how some features work, but nothing really to give details about.
2005-8-3 The game has been updated & more pictures elsewhere News entry by Visual The pictures for releases, history of person's looks and the new game all use the same set of pictures, and willx24601 just sent roughly 100 new pictures, so all 3 features have been updated.
The game got other additions as well:
- ability to report errors - use this if you know better than we do with some pictures
- HP Allstars pictures are no longer shown in most cases, as they have visible name tags. If there are no other pictures of someone, the allstars pictures are still used, though.
2005-8-2 Small changes all over the place News entry by Visual A lot of stuff has been updated, but it is the kind of stuff most probably won't notice without especially looking for it, so in other words, nothing worth mentioning.
2005-8-1 Updates: Checkpoint 3 (new game!) News entry by Visual I don't know if I get any more updates done today or if it'll have to wait until tomorrow, but however it goes, I'll keep making more updates.
Aside from making minor changes all over the place, there is one addition big enough to make this yet another update checkpoint.
In short, I've added a new Hello! Project game. For the impatient, here's a direct link to the game: who is this person?.
The game shows you pictures of various Hello! Project members and asks you to name them. Normally you'll have 5 options to choose from, but for extra challenge you can type the name of the person in question. In other words, this is basically a picture quiz.
Updates: Checkpoint 2 News entry by Visual It's past 4 am and it's time for me to call it a night, but there are some additions I finished.
Aside from many minor changes, there is one new added feature. In most (if not all) cases when you go to the page about a girl, below the picture there will be the text "There are more pictures available of this person.". If you click the text, you will be taken to a new page.
The page has pictures of the person in question, with clearly stating the age and source of the image, allowing you to easily see how much the girls have changed over time.
Some of you may notice that they are the same images that are currently used with many releases showing what the members looked like when the PV was released. This new feature is really the other side of the same feature.
Have fun with it and please report problems, if you find any. I quickly made sure that the feature works with all major browsers, but didn't do any thorough testing.
Last but not least, here are some example pages:
There are still lots of things left to do tomorrow, and that hopefully includes something fun, but we'll see about that.
Updates: Checkpoint 1 News entry by Visual Thus far, I've made the following updates:
2005-7-31 Heads up on updates to come News entry by Visual Tomorrow I'll start the updates I've been promising from early June. I'll spend as long as it takes tomorrow, and if it's not enough, I'll keep making updates daily, so by the end of the week the site should be completely up-to-date.
Here's a summary of what I'll be doing:
- I'll add all the Hello! Project releases that happened during the summer and late spring.
- I'll update pictures of various people from the PV screenshots a couple of very helpful guys have been sending me throughout the summer (now seen in the pages of the releases)
- I'll go through all pages about people and groups and see if there is anything outdated or if something needs to be added.
- If I have time and and idea, I'll probably add some H!P-related online game. Something like "name the person/group in picture" is one possibility, but I have some other ideas as well.
Last but not least thank you for your patience with the lack of updates during the summer, I'll try to make up for it in the coming days.
Edit: I would also like to mention, that over the year I've checked many of the sites, message boards and blogs that have linked to the site. I would like to thank everyone who has done so, and also those that have commented on the postings. I can't describe how happy it makes me to read comments like "the best site", "bookmarked", etc. Thank you!
1 | 2 | Next [Note: there may be pages beoynd the next one] Note: If you're really interested in the details of what has been edited, there is raw changelog that you can view. There is lots of stuff you can't or aren't allowed to see, but every time something is edited it is automatically mentioned there. The page is primarily intented for my private use and is definately not good looking, but it works.
