Conceived by Mari Yaguchi, Mini Moni is a group for members less than 150 centimeters tall (although this rule was bent when Ai Takahashi joined). In addition to Yaguchi, other original members were Ai Kago and Nozomi Tsuji. Quite soon after the group was founded, Mika Todd of Coconuts Musume joined the group as well to give them some international flavor. A couple of times Mini Moni has collaborated with the a Japanese comedian called Bakatono-sama. The groups started existing in January of 2001. Most of Mini Moni's songs are targeted at young children.

In addition to numerous short series, Mini Moni have made a movie, Okashi na Daibouken.

In the subgroup shuffling of 2002 Mari Yaguchi left the group and was replaced by Ai Takahashi. The leader from that point onwards was Mika Todd.

The group has been put on hiatus, as Mika has left from Japan, and both Ai Kago and Nozomi graduated from Morning Musume in August leaving only Takahashi remaining of the last configuration.

It is noteworthy that during a recent (fall 2004) W and Berryz Koubou concert Nozomi Tsuji and three of the H!P Kids performed Jyan-ken-pyon.
