Melon Kinenbi's debut was in 2000. Their first release was single Amai Anata no Aji, which was the ending theme song for Sorcerous Stabber Orphen Revenge. The style of the group resembles early Morning Musume, as it is somewhat mature, although their style has varied from single to single.

Melon Kinenbi has been the only stable Hello! Project group having had no changes in their members. Their releases include over 10 singles and an album.
