Hello! Database: Berryz Koubou

Berryz Koubou is one of the three Hello! Project Kids subgroups along with ZYX and Aa! and it's the only one without a Morning Musume member in lead. The group is the most active H!P Kids group, as they have already released not only six singles, but also a full-length album. In practise, though, the rest of the kid groups can be considered permanently inactive (with the exception of recently announced °C-ute).

Originally the intention was that the kids involved in the group would vary from single to single, but in actuality the group has remained the same, with the exception of one graduation.

The rate of single releases made them one of the most active H!P groups recently. In addition to their own releases they have appeared as background dancers in W PV Aa Ii Na. They often share events with W in other cases as well, including some joint concerts.

In fall of 2005 it was announced that Maiha Ishimura would withdraw from the group to focus on studying, and that eventually happened on October 2nd of the year.
